INTRODUCTION

ILASS - Americas, the Institute for Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems, North and South America, was established in 1986 as an outgrowth of the International Conference on Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems (ICLASS).

ILASS - Americas, like other ILASS bodies, is an organization of industrialists, researchers, academics, and students engaged in professional activities connected with the spraying of liquids. Its membership is open to residents of countries that are part of the American continents. ILASS organizations have also been formed in Europe, Japan, Korea, and South East Asia and there is an International Coordinating Council.

ILASS - Americas organizes an annual Conference, and supports the following nine technical committees that address the applications, analyses, and mechanisms associated with sprays and spray systems:

APPLICATIONS:
Biological and Agricultural Sprays
Boilers, Furnaces, Incinerators
Deposition and Coatings
Diesel and Automotive
Industrial Sprays
Propulsion (Gas Turbines and Rockets)

ANALYSES AND MECHANISMS:
Computational and Modeling
Physics of Atomization
Spray Measurements/Instrumentation
